Plymouth County Sheriff 2010:

THREATENED TO BATTER A FEMALE ‘BABYSITTER’ AND ARRESTED AND CONVICTED OF OPERATING UNDER THE INFLUENCE OF ALCOHOL
1985
This incident took place on May 4th, when an intoxicated Richard Pond showed up unannounced at the home of his ex-wife, Nancy,
demanding that her female babysitter allow him to see his kids. The babysitter refused to allow Pond to enter the house, threatening to call the police
if he did not leave the premises. Pond called the Norwood police himself, but once they arrived at the scene they concluded that he was drunk, instructed
him to seek a Court order for visitation, and to leave the property at once. Pond told the police that he had just returned from Florida where he had
been residing for the past four years, that he did not like the advice the police had given him, and threatened to go back to the house and “punch the
fu@#ing lesie* [babysitter] in the mouth” (* a dated, derogatory term for lesbian). The officers told Pond that they thought he had had too much to drink
and to “take a walk.” Pond left the scene but the officers witnessed him enter a car and drive away. The Norwood police began to follow Pond in their cruiser
prompting him to pull over, exit his vehicle and to begin “yelling profanities” at the police. Pond, who was described by police as “uncooperative” was placed
under arrest for operating under the influence (OUI) of alcohol. At the Norwood police station, Pond blew a .23 on the breathalyzer, twice the legal limit
of .10 in 1985 and nearly three times today’s limit of .08. Pond later plead sufficient facts to enter a guilty finding in the Dedham District Court on
June 5, 1985 before Judge William Hogan, where he received the standard MGL c. 90, s.24D disposition on June 5th.
(see Exhibit ‘P’)
POND STILL REFUSED TO PAY CHILD SUPPORT A DECADE LATER
1985
Kevin Hoban from the Child Support Unit of the Massachusetts Department of Public Welfare filed a Complaint for Contempt against Richard Pond
in the Suffolk County Probate Court, stating that Mr. Pond “has violated the [Court] order since June 10, 1982 by failing to pay $30.00 each and every week…toward an
arrearage of $3,970.” September 13th.
(see Exhibit ‘Q’) Note: At a weekly rate of only $30.00 to support two (2) of his own children, Mr. Pond had neglected to pay any of the Court ordered support for more than
three and a half (3.5+) years by 1985, alone!
1986
Richard Pond was hired by the Suffolk County Sheriff’s Department (SCSD) and started work as a Correction Officer (issued badge # 102) on
May 14th, where he was initially assigned to the old Charles Street Jail, later serving at the new Suffolk County “South Bay” House of Correction on Bradston
Street in Boston.
1989
Richard Pond married his second wife, Leslie Ann (MacIsaac) Pond (DOB: 05/24/52) on June 2nd. They initially resided at 24 Beers Avenue, Norwell.
